The Scotts Company Product Storage and Loading Yard

The Scotts Company produces bagged mulch and fertilizer at
the Carrollton, Kentucky facility. The poor condition of the
storage and loading yard prevented efficient cycle times for
the loaders. In addition the entire site was poorly drained.
Vector Engineers was retained to evaluate the subgrade
conditions, redesign the pavement sections providing several
options. In addition to the pavement redesign, Vector Engineers conducted a drainage study and designed the site grades to direct surface water to a detention basin just off the pavement area. Once the pavement section was decided upon, Vector Engineers provided construction observation to insure that the contractor constructed the pavement and the site grades as designed. The redesign and construction resulted in a high quality concrete pavement section that enables the Scotts Company to efficiently load and deliver its products.
