Location: Elizabethtown, Kentucky

Civil Engineer: Mark E. Patterson, P.E., P.L.S.
Project Manager: Jason T. Canuel

As a part of the city of Elizabethtown's stormwater master plan,
Vector Engineers, Inc. provided civil engineering consulting for a
culvert replacement within a residential subdivision. The existing
triple 36” reinforced concrete pipes were undersized and raised upstream headwaters high enough to flood adjacent homes. Vector Engineers, Inc. was given hydraulic data by the city which needed to be verified as a part of the current replacement. Vector Engineers, Inc. performed a detailed topographic survey and designed a 49 foot dual 15'x5' reinforced concrete box culvert. Hydraulic calculations were completed for existing conditions as well as for future developed conditions upstream in order to check headwater depths. The design incorporated a horizontal and vertical alignment that minimized impacts to existing utility crossings and streets. Vector Engineers, Inc. also provided cost estimates, quantity worksheets and public bid information for the local newspaper.
