The Louisville Water Company planned a new 1 million gallon water tank to be located in Eastern Jefferson County, Kentucky. Several sites were considered. Vector Engineers, Inc. conducted a geotechnical engineering site reconnaissance of several locations and two sites were selected for extensive study. The site was selected based in part by the geotechnical engineering and geological report conducted by Vector. The tank was designed to be an elevated water storage tank founded on a ring wall foundation bearing on competent bedrock. As the tank was being constructed, Vector Engineers continued its involvement on the project as the construction inspector for the Louisville Water Company. Vector provided on site inspection and observations services for the Louisville Water Company by submitting daily field reports and observing the general construction sequence. In addition, Vector is assisting the Louisville Water Company in administration of the various subcontractors on the project.
